Broke the left leading edge at the lower connector(only spot I ever break), and had no 6mm long enough for replacement. I ended up using some 8mm excel for a splice(glued a couple shorter 6mm into it). Did not notice a difference in the flight afterward. I believe Michel on here was toying with doing a 2 piece system to make it easier for a spar change. I see that Skyshark 2P is basically 6mm and maybe stronger. If you splice a few cm above the lower connector cutout it would make for a quick changeout. I am decent at starting the Whizz but here and there that edge likes to catch even when I have thrown the lines. Has anyone tried such a thing? Also if you got different connectors, the leading edge sleeve has space for 8mm. Thoughts?

Sorry for the English. New to the forum, have only flown Whiz as a speed / power kite. Have always flown on second knot in 3-5 Bft. Succeed on solo takeoffs 80% of time. Love flying the Whizz, have had it since June. I am in the US and we have no options except HQ USA (thankfully) for framed speed kites, and interest in the US for this type of flying is not to be found. Germany seems to be the # 1 spot on the planet for speed. I am hopefully in the cycle for a Jorg kite, but current schedule is April 2022 . I am looking for something faster than the Whizz (Dat Schantalle Std or maybe next smaller). I have learned quite a bit about speed kites reading through the forum. I also know I am a beginner. I have flown Std team kites (galaxy, Mamba) for a while. Like the speed world better. Looking for advice. While waiting for the Schantalle, what would be a good purchase to add to my skills? I have read much positive about Spacekites. My second trouble is how difficult is it to get a kite to the US from Germany ? How much trouble will I have starting these types of speed kites compared to the Whizz? Lots of questions I know, any advice is appreciated. This is really an awesome forum to be a part of. Really looking forward to a Shantalle. there is quite the positive vibe to these kites on here.
Thank You Tim
