Which thread do you use? - Welches Nähgarn benutzt ihr?

Just curious about which thread you use (brand and thickness) and where do you buy it ? I currently use the Avino 60'er from Metropolis-Drachen. It seems quite good, but I have a little problems getting the stitches on the backside completely tight when sewing 3-stitch zigzag (I have fiddled with the tension). Sewing straight there are no problems at all - everything is beautifilly tight. I sew with a Pfaff 1536 using 90'er Schmetz jeans needles. I use 3mm stitch length for straight stitch, and 3mm length and 4-5mm width for 3-stitch zigzag.

Any suggestions for improvement is welcome - also in German (I understand some German, but cannot write it).

Also in English. I use an 80 something thread with the same size needles (both jeans and ballpoint). I'm having the same problems you experience and was about to buy the same 60-er thread. Reading your (and my) problem there must be something else going on. I also tried fiddling with the tension but nothing helped.

So I'm in line after Morten for hearing suggestions how others cope with this (and hopefully solved it).

I buy my thread in a special shop for sewing-maschines in my town (Mülheim an der Ruhr).
This polyester-thread ist made in Germany, from 'coats' and it is the thinnest thread you can buy in this shop.
I don´t know, what number it has, on the backside is the number 1000 an the Produktcode ....so I guess, that the 1000 will be the thickness.

I began using this thread, when I build my first indoorkites and now I use it for all my kites (more- or Singlelines).
I like thin thread, because the seam looks much more better, than with a strong thread.
I never had problems with that, all my kites are made with this and no seam has ever broken.

My needles are 'microtex neddles' , the Master in the shop suggested them to me, and they work really good, they never made problems and even have no problems with noses and all materials (without leather) which are used for this.

Ich kaufe mein Nähgarn in einem Nahmschienenfachgeschaäft in Mülheim an der Ruhr.
Es ist ein deutsches Produkt von 'Coats' und das dünnste Polyestergarn, dass mir dieses Geschäft besorgen kann.
Leider weiss ich nicht, welche Dicke es hat, auf der Rückseite steht lediglich der Produktcode und eine 1000, ich gehe also davon aus, dass diese 1000 die Dicke angibt.

Angefangen dieses Garn zu verwenden habe ich bei meinen ersten Indoordrachen und mittlerweile nutze ich es für alle meine Drachen.
Trotzdem hatte ich niemals Probleme, keine Naht ist jemals zerrissen.
Als Nadel nutze ich 'Microtex-Nadeln'. Diese Nadlen wurden mir von dem Meister des Nähgeschäftes empfohlen und verrichten bisher einen einwandfreien Dienst, sie nähen alles, vom leichtesten Tuch bis zur Drachennase mit den typischen Materialien (ausschließlich Leder) ohne Probleme.

Dünne Garne ziehe ich vor, weil die Naht damit wesentlich besser und ordentlicher aussieht als mit einem dicken Garn.....ich liebe halt das filigrane

It's thin, very slick and very strong. Also used by HQ Kites for example.

Hmmm... Thanks for the feedback. I have a large roll of Serafil 60 and a small roll of Amann Seralon (100'er) lying around. I guess I'll those on my new machine, before getting something new.
